What does Flipswap do?

Flipswap is focused on extending the life of consumer electronics by creating an opportunity for consumers to trade-in old consumer electronics (either in-store or online) when they're in the process of buying newer technology.  By doing this, Flipswap ensures that older equipment doesn't become e-waste in our landfills, either by finding a new home for the older product, or by sending it to compliant recycling partners to re-use the materials.  In the end the environment wins, the retailer wins and the consumer wins, because more often than not, the consumer gets cash back for their trade-in.

Simple Overview of Process:

  1. Consumer gives make and model # of device they wish to trade-in
  2. Flipswap states a trade-in value (based on condition of phone ascertained by questions answered by consumer)
  3. If online: Consumer confirms the trade and prints out a prepaid mailing label to mail their phone in to Flipswap.
  4. If in-store: Consumer hands over phone to retailer and gets in-store credit in the value of the trade-in.
  5. Flipswap receives the phone, assesses the condition of the phone, wipes the data and prepares the device for its next life (either re-distribution, or re-cycling)
